St Mary's Church is dated 1143 was rebuilt in the 1800's and has a magnificent early 15th century, carved oak choir screen.
There is a very impressive memorial to Sir William Waad a diplomat and Office of State to both Elizabeth I and James I. He was Lieutenant of The Tower and was custodian to both Guy Fawkes and Sir Walter Raleigh for eight years.
