Cadwaldwr, the last Welsh prince also to be king of England, founded Magor's spacious church in the 7th century.
The Cathedral of the Moors, as the church is known, is mainly Norman, with a 13th-century tower which overlooks the Bristol Channel. In the churchyard lie the ivy-clad remains of a priory.
