Lower Peover (pee'ver)
A group of cottages surround the small green with a sign stating this as the centre of the village, another group of buildings up a cobbled lane to the south.
The Church of St Oswald was built in 1269 with massive timber frames and an amazing feature is the cross-braces, the stone tower was added in the 1560s. There is some amazing carvings from the pews to the pulpit, screens and lectern and the medieval chest was constructed from a hollowed out log of bog-oak.
