URPoint Details
St Michael's has had more imitators than many better known churches - particularly in the United States. A small building, it consists of a nave, aisles and chancel dating mostly from the 12th and 13th centuries, with an impressive thatched nave roof sloping down over low supporting walls.
The chancel was conservatively rebuilt in 1884, when older materials were reused, including an unusual 13th century double piscina. The double bellcote over the west end, sadly without its bells, is probably 17th century.
