URPoint Details
Long Melford has one of the most impressive streets and lies on an ancient Roman site.
Renown for its book and antique shops and art galleries, it is worth taking a walk up one side of the street and down the other side exploring the very old mixture of Georgian, Victorian buildings and Norfolk flat flint houses in Suffolk pink.
A blue glass Roman vase was unearthed here in 1958 and is now in the British Museum.
Lady Chapel still has mementos from 1669 to 1880 when it was a schoolroom.
