A village well known for its herds of cattle and near the Balnagowan River a couple of miles to the west lies Marybank churchyard with some interesting ancient stones.
A mile southwest beyond the Balngowan River is the turreted Balnagowan Castle once the home of the Earls of Ross and has fine gardens.
