The abbey is surrounded by an outstanding 100 acre garden and arboretum developed from 1926 by the 1st Lord Fairhaven presenting an imposing blend of formal 17th century French-style and 18th century natural landscaping Majestic tree lined avenues and walks form the framework for hidden, more formal gardens such as dahlias garden, hyacinth garden, and semi-circular herbaceous garden. Lord Fairhaven's impressive collection of statuary is positioned throughout the grounds and used as features in garden layout.
