Loddon - Church of the Holy Trinity

Church Plain, Loddon NR14 6EX

URPoint Details

Holy Trinity Church, was built in 1492 by Sir James Hobart, Attorney General to Henry VI who lived in nearby Hales Hall. The church has a beautiful stained glass window depicting crests of the wealthy families of the area. There is an interesting 17th century sacrament font on three traceried steps, the top one of which is shaped like a Maltese cross. A fine screen painted with scenes from the life of Christ and less usual the martyrdom of William of Norwich. The Jacobean pulpit and large poor-box are interesting.
