Loddon House, an imposing building once a lunatic asylum is next door to a large house built for the local doctor.
The village has many 17th and 18th century houses and one thatch cottage remains in the High Street.
There are many lovely walks and picnic spots along the river's edge.
The Angel Inn is reputedly to have been built before the church.
