URPoint Details
A small loch to the northeast of Beinn Sholum (4.5km), northwest of Ardbeg and (6.5km) northeast of Port Ellen.
The loch provides the peaty water for Ardbeg Distillery and gives its name to the Ardbeg Uigeadail a high-strength vatting Ardbeg which is said to retain maximum flavour, with more body and added depth.
The loch is also noted for its trout fishing.
