A delightful sea loch extending 20 miles from the Ardnamurchan peninsula on the Sound of Mull and at its head is where the districts of Morven and Ardgour meet.
Dominated by the fine rock peak of Garbh Bheinn at 2,903ft and to the southeast by Creach Bheinn rising to 2,800ft.
The road crosses the northern shores of the loch and passes the lovely resorts of Strontian and Salen behind which rises the prominent cone of Ben Resipol at 2,774ft.
