URPoint Details
One of the loveliest of the Northwest Highland lochs and is a favourite haunt for anglers.
The loch is twelve miles long and has some of the most fantastic mountain scenery with Slioch rising to 3,260ft a notable landmark.
To the northwest of Slioch is Ben Lair at 2,817ft with its great cliffs, and farther on is Beinn Airdh Charr at 2,593ft.
The road along Loch Maree crosses the western shores passing Grudie Bridge which offers great views towards the Torridon peaks in the south from Beinn a Chearcaill at 2,376ft to the higher Ben Eighe at 3,220ft and Liathach at 3,456ft.
