URPoint Details
Landrindod stands just above the junction between the Rivers Ithon and Aran where the Church of the Trinity, built in the Middle Ages, marks the founding of the community.
Llandrindod was no more than a scattered hamlet until 1749, when a hotel was built and the fashions of Bath were introduced including ballrooms, dining salons and gaming places.
The town lies on a plateau 700ft above sea level overlooking the River Ithon and has thirty springs with saline, sulphurous or chalybeate, cold and non aerated, tonic and laxative qualities.
