The village in the green Clwydian hills which rises to 1,500ft has attractive white washed cottages clustering around the church.
The church partially rebuilt in 1736 has two naves set side by side, it has a brass chandelier and a 14th century effigy.
In a cave hollowed out of a limestone cliff a Stone Age axe was found here in 1869 in the wooded dell near the bridge over the Alun.
