From the 1st century Liverpool has been inhabited and by 1200 a fishing village had grown up and in 1207 King John granted a charter to ‘Livpul’.
William Ewart Gladstone was born in Rodney Street in 1809. He became rime Minister three times in 1868-74, 1880-85 and 1892-94.
George Stubbs the great animal painter was born in Ormond Street in 1724-1806 One of his famous painting was of the ‘The Grosvenor Hunt’.
