Littleborough Road, Littleborough DN22 0HD, England
URPoint Details
This tiny Norman Church of St Nicholas, (Churches Conservation Trust) lies down a quiet lane, close to a pretty stretch of the River Trent. The simple two cell stone building probably belongs to the second half of the 11th century. It has a Norman doorway and chancel arch and is notable for the ancient texture of its fabric, with herring-bone masonry and Roman tiles and bricks in the wall. Two of the oldest bells in the county hang in the double bell-cote.
