URPoint Details
Re-creation of a typical 17th century hamlet, visitors take a time travel experience into 1642.
The hamlet is timber-framed, wattle daub and thatched cottages with occupants going about their normal everyday lives. This is no wax museum - villagers may be questioned about their lives and will answer in the speech of the period. Crafts include ale housekeeper, wheelwright, dairymaid and lace-maker. No two days are ever the same in Little Woodham and you may also encounter others - charcoal burners, bodgers, sawyers, apothecaries - the hamlet comes alive for selected dates each year.
