URPoint Details
The oldest house in Suffolk is Little Wenham Hall, a miniature castle dating from 1270-1280. It was built as a house, has a battlement appearance, as a keep it also represents a very early post-Roman use of brick. The tiny chapel is rib-vaulted with a boss representing St Petronilla, a reminder that the house was inherited by Petronilla of Nerford in 1287.
