A windmill and lovely timber-framed cottages make up this attractive village, the church is mainly Early English and a fine timbered front porch.
To the east is the Elizabethan, Hadham Hall, built for the Capel family in the 16th century. Parts of the building were destroyed by fire it still retains much of its Elizabethan structure with entrance turrets, octagonal chimneys and a gallery nearly 140ft long.
The small Church of St Cecilia has a 14th century tower with diagonal buttresses has a fine arch and the nave has Perpendicular windows. The timbered south porch is interesting the sides of which are trefoil-cusped along the tops. The transept opens in a four-centred arch and the three-decker pulpit decorated with a big tester is dated 1633.
