Little Faringdon - Church of St Margaret of England
Little Faringdon GL7 3QW, England
URPoint Details
The dedication of this church has been lost. The dragon's head carving at the west end of the nave suggest that it may have been to St George. The church may date back to the early 13th century, built by Cistercian monks. The church has a low closed door in the north wall, and it has been suggested that the practice of excommunication may have been carried out here. The Aumbry is worthy of note.
