Little Barningham - Church of St Andrew
The Street, Little Barningham NR11 7LR, England
URPoint Details
St Andrew's Church records show it has been in existence since 1320. There is evidence that there was a Saxon church here before this one was built. Inscriptions in the church are the most fascinating to read. The one below the pulpit states that ‘Built at the coste and charge of Steven Crosbee, Anno Domino 1640’ and another reads ‘For couples joyned in wedlocke. The most interesting one reads ‘All you that doe this space pass by, as you are now even soe was I. Remember death, for you must dye and I am soe shall you be, prepare therefore to follow me’.
