Little Baddow mill, on the banks of the river Chelmer beside the road to Boreham, is mentioned in the Domesday Book. Another mill existed at the bottom of North Hill in the 1330s once used to make paper in the 18th century.
Nearby stands the 14th and 15th century timbered Old Hall.
