URPoint Details
A village in the southwest of the county sits at the bottom of a steep winding hill. The village belonged to various families until 1804 when the Duke of Bedford took it over and had several houses built for the local workforce. These houses had no front doors and it has been said that the reason for this was the Duke and Duchess hated to go past and see women gossiping in the street.
