URPoint Details
Pronounced ‘Lemster’ it is an old market town of Saxon origins, famous in medieval times for the fine quality of its wool.
The Priory, now the parish church, and the many timber-frames buildings make it worth a separate visit.
The town has a reputation as an important antiques centre and a good base for exploring the black and white villages of the North Herefordshire Marches.
