A busy seaport and dock for Edinburgh, situated where the Water of Leith enters the Firth of Forth.
Leith became part of Edinburgh in 1920.
The shore was an old landing place and there is a plaque commemorating George IV visit in 1822.
The Signal Tower built originally in 1685 as a windmill still stands by the shore.
St Mary’s Church in Kirkgate, was restored in the 15th century.
On Leith Links now a park is where Charles I played golf in 1641.
