Dating from 1277 the church is the oldest building in Leighton, although damaged by fire in 1985 is now one of the finest restored medieval churches in Britain with a splendid repainted and regilded roof with carved angels. The 190ft spire, 13th century ironwork, magnificent roofs make this church one not to be missed. This large church has a fine crossing steeple and an impressive interior including misericords probably from St Albans Abbey. Victorian Kempe glass windows, pre-Reformation choir stalls and the excellent Harrison and Harrison organ can still be seen.
