The Leicester section of the Grand Union Canal - with branches to Market Harborough and Welford - meanders throughout the district. Now used for boating, angling and towpath walking. Of special interest are Foxton Locks, a flight of 10 locks climbing 75 ft, and Foxton Inclined Plane, a barge lift used between 1900 & 1910. Canal trips and horse-drawn boat rides from Foxton Locks.
