The Church of St Mary dates from the 13th to 15th century in style and has a fine detached tower dating from around 1400. The church can trace its history back to the 10th century AD, when a Saxon wattle and wood church stood where the nave now stands. There is a two storied west porch. The nave is tall with a clerestory of Perpendicular square-headed windows
