The narrow-gauge railway runs on one of the oldest trackbeds in Cornwall originally built in 1849. Steam hauled trains travel through the Lappa Valley to East Wheal Rose, once a famous silver-lead mine Here the centrepiece is a magnificent listed engine house, built to contain the largest beam engine in Cornwall - the Great Hundred - now sadly long gone.

A dramatic film tells the story of the mine through its heyday in the 1840s, the dreadful disaster of 1846, and bankruptcy in the 1880s. Other facilities include boating lake, maze, miniature trains, cafe and gift shop.
