Church Langton
The tower of the Church of St. Peters dominates the surrounding countryside. It was here in September 1759 that Handel's `Messiah' was first performed in a Parish Church in 1759. This was part of one of the great music festivals organised by the Rector, the Rev. William Hanbury, whose rectory is symmetrical red brick house next to the Church.
