A long village, with St Mary's church, old and small and very pleasantly situated among woods on high ground overlooking the valley of the river Stour.
John Constable the famous artist used to visit Langham Hall and painted from the woods his famous ˜Dedham Vale'. He also made many sketches and one later became Glebe Farm which hangs in the Tate Gallery in London.
