Lanercost Priory, (EH), off minor road south of Lanercost village, 2m northeast of Brampton.
Open 1 April to 30 September, daily 10am-6pm. Parking; dogs on leads only.
Augustinian canons founded the monastery in 1165-69. The nave of the church, which is intact and in use as the local parish church, contrasts with the ruined chancel, transepts and priory buildings.
