URPoint Details
This market town has some of the best farmland in southern Scotland, and the ruins of the 12th century church of St Kentigern stand in the churchyard. One of its bells can be heard pealing from the Town steeple and dates from 1110 making it the oldest bell in Britain. The area of New Lanark was founded in 1784 by the social reformer Robert Owen.
