A Clydesdale village looking towards Tinto Hill at 2335ft, a noted viewpoint to the west, and also the Culter Fell at 2,454ft. The church where Robert Burns once visited has a Norman doorway and still retains its jougs. The ruins of Lamington Tower date from 1589.
