‘Town of the Dyke’ or Trefyclawdd as Knighton was once known as Offa’s Dyke built in the 8th century by King Offa of Mercia still courses thru the centre of town.
There are many beautiful buildings and one worth a visit is the Swan Hotel dating back to the 17th century.
In 1971 the Offa's Dyke Path was officially opened by Lord Hunt of Everest at a ceremony held in Knighton's riverside park.
