Situated near the Kirtle Water and to the southeast are the old towers of Robgill and Bonshaw.
Bonshaw dates from the 16th century and is now incorporated with a new mansion.
To the northeast is the ruined church of Kirkconnell sitting beside Kirtle Water with the grave of the ‘Fair Helen of Kirkconnell Lee’ and her lover.
