Kirstead House built in 1654 was for nearly 200 years the home of the Whall family. The tombstone of Robert who died in 1720 is the oldest in the churchyard.

Other houses of interest are The Clock House, Windetts Cottages and Walnut Tree Farm are both 16th century.
The Green Man House originally the village pub dates back to 1700.

Langhale House, is Georgian and is a reminder that there was once a hamlet of that name with its own manor and church.

Kirstead Hall, according to the Domesday Book belonged to Bury Abbey, which Henry VIII sold to Thomas Godsalve in 1539.

The church of St Margaret's dates back to the 13th century, and the doorway dated 1190 is all that remains of the original building. It has a thatched nave, tiled chancel and bellcote at the west end and the Stuart altar still stands.
