A delightful little town on the slopes of the beautiful Braes of Angus, which include the fabulous Glen Cova, Glen Prosen and Glen Isla.
There are many sandstone cottages and all year round for fishing especially for trout.
Opposite Barrie’s cottage stands the ‘Auld Licht Manse’, the gable of which is preserved in the new church.
Logie is a 17th century house south of town and a few miles north near the South Esk River is Inverquhartity Castle a well preserved four storeyed tower dating from 1450.
