In the Strath Ardle valley is the stream of Ardle which flows through the village to the Ericht.
To the north the road leads to Pitlochry and climbs through the lovely Glen Brerachan reaching a height of 1,260ft with views of Ben Vrackie at 2,757ft before descending to the valley of the Tummel.
