Kirklees Light Railway

Take a ride through a picturesque rural valley of the Pennine foothills, and enjoy the thrill of history recreated on real steam trains in half size. This 15 inch gauge railway has been purpose built on the old Lancashire and Yorkshire Clayton West Branch which joins the main Huddersfield to Sheffield line some 4 miles from the present terminus. Kirklees Light railway travels between the village of Clayton West and Skelmanthorpe. Unspoiled by roads, on a half-size narrow gauge train in covered and heated carriages - ideal location for all the family. Lovely country walks.
