To the southeast of the village the Rivers of Tarf and Bladnoch meet.
The church has some fine remains and an external stair to the gallery.
To the southwest beyond Tarf Water and dating from the 15th and 16th century is the fine restored Old Palace of Mochrum or Drumwalt Castle.
