There is a lovely walk from the bridge along a footpath following the river for half a mile, then entering the town by the stone steps leading up to the Norman church of St Mary.
Ruskin’s View
An avenue of trees leads to The Brow, where a view of the Lune Valley was praised by John Ruskin as ‘one of the loveliest scenes in England’.
