The Kintail area of Wester Ross lies around the head of Loch Duich and includes some of the finest mountain scenery in Scotland.
The National Trust look after more than 15,000 acres including the Five Sisters of Kintail with Scour Ouran rising to 3,505 being the highest, the green slopes are apparently the longest continuous in the Highlands, dropping from the summit to almost the roadside in the picturesque Glen Shiel.
The little church and manse of Kintail, stand on the eastern shores of Loch Duich near Inverinate.
One of the most spectacular views of the loch is from the summit of the lofty Mam Rattachan Pass on the road to Glenelg.
