King Edward VII (9 November 1841 - 6 May 1910)
He was well known for his extravagant court functions and his obesity. For breakfast he had eggs followed by large thick slices of bacon then fish (lobster, turbot or salmon) and finally a little game or poultry. He then had a 10-course lunch at 1 o’clock and dinner could be up to 12 courses.
He introduced the practice of eating roast beef and potatoes with horseradish sauce and Yorkshire pudding on Sundays
