Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club

Founded in 1887, this is a qualifying course for the Open Championship when it is held at nearby Royal Troon and has been the venue for the Scottish Amateur Championship among many other events.

There is more of an inland feel here, although the course is close by the sea. The name can be slightly confusing since this 27 hole course lies on the outskirts of Troon and some 13km from the town of Kilmarnock from which it takes its name.

Golf club and trolley hire are available all you need to do is contact the shop in advance.

The main lounge and bar area offers great panoramic views across the course where you can enjoy a drink or something to eat.
