An all round holiday resort for fishing on Loch Tay, walking or climbing in the summer and in the winter skiing in the Ben Lawers range.
The ruins of Finlarig Castle, a former seat of the Campbells lies ½ mile to the north at the head of the loch.
Through Glen Dochart flows the river of the same name with its picturesque falls, the river is then merges with the Lochay and flows through Glen Lochay also with beautiful falls.
Near the Dochart Bridge built in 1760 and repaired in 1830 are two small islands one of which is Inch Buie, the burial place of the Clan MacNab.
