URPoint Details
A hamlet best known for the bloody battle which took place in 1689 at the head of the Pass of Killiecrankie about a mile north.
The battle was won for James VII of Scotland (James II of England) and the Jacobite cause.
A steep footpath descends to the narrow opening of the gorge, known as ‘Soldier ‘s Leap’ after a trooper who jumped across the River Garry to escape the Royalist Highlanders.
