The church situated a little to the south has a fine sculptured cross.
To the northeast is Loch Gorm with the remains of an old Macdonald castle.
There are good sands at Machir Bay, in the Rhinns of Islay to the west and also at Saligo Bay to the north.
There are graves of some of those who perished when the Ontario sank in 1918
