URPoint Details

A remote village on the rocky Ardnamurchan coast and from here you can get the ferry to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. To the southeast across the water is the impressive remains of Mingary Castle where James IV held court in 1495. The castle is described in Scott’s ‘Lord of the Isles’ and was the ancient home of the MacIans a Sept of the Clandonald. Beyond the castle rises Ben Hiant to 1,729ft looking east to Loch Sunart.
