A little village well-known for its fine furniture and carvings.
The work of Robert Thompson, the son of a local joiner who died in 1955, when he started a tradition of carving a mouse into all the pieces of furniture made here.
The White Horse 314ft long and 288ft high was cut into the turf above the village by the local schoolmaster John Hodgson and his pupils in 1857.
